Hello Helen,
Thank you for your interest in our SMART Teacher class.  We have had an overwhelming response to the class.  The ultimate power of the class is the required coaching that helps implement the items we have instructed during the face to face instruction.  I have attached an overview of what we cover in our class.   Each Face to Face session runs for 3 hours.

Day 1    Face To Face---Overview of SMART Products—SmartBoard, SMART Notebook, SMART Response, SMART Slate, and Inkaware.  Class homework expectations reviewed and assigned.
Day 1     Coaching--3 Hours with Technology Coach
Day 2    Face To Face--Homework demonstrated and discussed. Continuation of SMART products including recorder, attachments, images, video and additional SMART tools.  Homework assigned.
Day 2     Coaching--2 Hours with Technology Coach
Day 3    Face To Face--Homework demonstrated and discussed.  SMART Lesson Activity Tool Kit, including peer discussion on application of tools to curriculum and classroom use.  Homework assigned.
Day 3     Coaching--2 Hours with Technology Coach
Days  4 & 5  Face To Face--Homework demonstrated and discussed.  SMART Response Systems and use for classroom assessment along with analysis of data using Excel and instructional impact.  Homework assigned.
Days 4 & 5 Coaching 4 Hours with Technology Coach
Day 6    Face to Face--Verbal report on Day 5 homework and reports generated from their SMART Response data. Each class member will also present a homework assignment that had significant impact on teaching and learning. Presentation of class certificates along with course feedback is completed.

Coaching    All participants will receive 12 hours of coaching that will be divided among the 6 days of class. Coaching logs will be kept.
Homework    Rubrics for each class assignment will be given to the students so course assignment expectations are clear.

I hope this helps you get started on your planning for your class.  It's taken a few years to work the pacing and get all the notes solidified.

The time to play with the tools is most important. Allow them to play with support, but then move them into creating a new lesson using the new strategies.

Contact Kara Gann at Laramie County School District 1 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Gannk@laramie1.org. We have Technology coaches in the district and we teach 3 hours for 6 different topics in Smart Notebook which is all scripted so that anyone who teaches delivers the same message. We also require Home Fun so they practice the skills we give them. This is a 2 credit course through the university.
