Updated Notebook Software
We upgraded our notebook software on our macbooks(version 10.0. 346.2). Now the software keeps unexpectedly crashing. Teachers are getting frustrated. Anyone having the same problems or know of a fix? The files made with the earlier version crash more. Many interactive tools aren't working.

I would then uninstall everything that has to deal with SMART. E.G. Applications-Notebook/SMART Notebook-run the uninstaller. Applications-SMARTBoard Drivers-run the uninstaller. Uninstall SMART Product Update... Ed Hardy | Tiffany Jewelry

I would contact Smarttech at http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/About+Us/Company+Info/Contact+Us... and see if they can help.
Here are some ideas to try:
1. Back up any Notebook galleries you or your teachers created by loading Notebook. Click on the down arrow to the right of My Content and choose export as collection file.
2. I would then uninstall everything that has to deal with SMART. E.G. Applications-Notebook/SMART Notebook-run the uninstaller. Applications-SMARTBoard Drivers-run the uninstaller. Uninstall SMART Product Update
3. Delete com.smarttech preferences from
A. Macintosh HD-users-shared-library-preferences folder
B. Macintosh HD-local or server user of computer-library-preference folder
C. Macintosh HD-library-preference folder
4. Delete all SMART Technologies (gallery) folders from Macintosh HD-LIbrary-Application Support folder.
5. Install from http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Support/Downloads/SBS/NBSv10MacE...
6. Restart and hopefully your computer works better.

My mac software is 10.5.8 but notebook still crashes.

you ned to update your mac software, should be at least 10.5.8 thats why you are crashing
