SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Is there a way to "freeze" what is on the SMART Board so that students can be using it but the teacher can be using the computer for something else? If so, how?

Thanks for your assistance,

Val Maher

Also - it depends on the product that you have purchased. With the newest SmartBoard/projector that is built in (with the arm above) - that option is no longer available on the remote - to my disappointment.

Yes and No! My teachers use this tip all the time. Put on the SMARTBoard a Notebook file, website, Word or PowerPoint. Typically it is a file with directions. On your projector remote, hit the freeze button. Now you can use your computer for anything else like checking email or taking attendance without the students seeing it on the SMARTBoard. The students just see what you froze on the SMARTBoard. When you are ready to use the SMARTBoard, click the freeze button again on the projector remote.

However, the students can't interact with the SMARTBoard, they can just view the last thing you froze on the screen!
