SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Can students access your Smart files from home?

Wondering if any of you provide access to your files through a blog for students. With more online learning predicted, I've been trying to figure out how to give students access at home to the files I create. Any of you already have with experience in this?

We can and do e-mail PDF converted files of class notes taken on the SmartBoard to students with a "Copies of Class Notes" accommodation in their IEPs.

With the Express site, all you need to do is make your files available (on a blog or website). Your students can then download and save them. After downloading, they will use their browser to navigate to the Express site (http://express.smarttech.com and open the file they downloaded.

I've used http://express.smarttech.com as well as the export function in notebook. with express, they can manipulate the pages as they are without losing functionality of flash items. With the export function (File>Export) you lose the functionality of the page, but by exporting a lesson as a pdf file, you can make some content available to them.

The tech director at my school has made Smart Notebook Viewer available on our school website. Students can download Smart Notebook Viewer, then use it to view notebook files that I have posted to our class page.

Yes, Students can access my lessons from home if I put them in a certain drive on my computer that everyone has access to.

SMART's developed an online site for viewing notebook files. It has some editing capabilities as well. I love it!

I use wikispaces to have my notes available to students. If your students have the notebook software at home, you can upload them as notebook files. Otherwise save them as pdfs and upload them. You can see my page at http://ms-schmitz-geometry-honors.wikispaces.com/Notes
