A Revolution in Education
I just realized it's been waaaay too long since I updated my pseudo-blog on this website, so it's time to get back on track! I thought I'd start with a simple, but very useful post: how to find user guides for the myriad of SMART products.
Personally, I find that sometimes features change, or I don't use a particular aspect of a piece of SMART software for awhile, and when the time comes to recall how to do it, I find myself wasting valuable time playing around looking for the functionality. Since I know that no one in education has any extra time to waste, I thought I'd point you to the exact locale of each and every SMART Product User Guide out there!
Sooo, without further ado, here are my step-by-step instructions for finding each of the valuable items!
Full edition (with screen shots): http://sharpsav.com/blog/smart-product-user-guides.html
Quick text-based version:
1. Navigate over to smarttech.com (hopefully I don't need to expand on how to do that...but feel free to ask if you need help!)
2. Click on "Support" at the top of your screen.
3. Choose "Browse Support"
4. Select your SMART product
5. Scroll down on this page to see all the various guides, product documents and troubleshooting handouts. I guarantee that one of these items will be the full user-guide -- 100+ pages of glorious 'how-to' reading!

Likewise, you can add a word or two after the backslash to bring up information about most of our products and services. For example, smarttech.com/response and smarttech.com/600 will open up webpages about SMART Response and the SMART Board 600 series.

Another quick way to access information for SMART software is to select its Help menu when you are running the program and have an Internet connection. SMART Notebook and SMART Response, for example, have an indexed and searchable Help system. The information is specific to the software version and in many instances was copied directly from its product guide.
