She will need to highlight the nuances of Short Term Health Insurance, traveling to another country, and the risk involved in going without insurance. Our kids are fast… Continue

Smart Notebook - Print Capture - Word Docs - Image Clarity

We are using Smart Notebook Version X with Windows XP. When we capture a Word Document using the Print Capture feature, the image is imported into the notebook as scripted, but the clarity of the image is severely compromised. Is there a work flow that would improve the image clarity? Thanks for any help you might be able to offer!

SMART Interactive Sites

Hi everyone!

I am presenting a session on Interactive SMART Sites to use with the SMART Board and I was wondering if there is anyone out there who might have already done this and is willing to share some material. If you haven't done a presentation, I would love to hear what your favorite sites are for teachers K-12. Thanks!

Exciting

All of this technology is exciting for students. We have brought in some of this new technology with our Community health network and Plastic training meetings. The group really can see the information in progress very well during our meetings. It saves on time and paper pre-meeting preparations. When people have… Continue

The conference takes place just outside Medicine Hat Alberta (3 hours drive SE of Calgary, AB) Many of the sessions are smartboard orientated with classroom teachers presenting. Lesson Design with SMART Boards

I'm a science consultant and am presenting on Lesson design with SMART Boards. I have an idea on what to present but would love any feedback from any of you with experience at tailoring lessons to involve a SMART Board in an engaging but not focussed manner.

What would a 21st century classroom look like now?

I am building a modern classroom in my school library. I have 6 computers as stand up works station (stools to sit at) a docu camera, student response systems, 2 wireless tablets, 6 digital cameras, mini camcorders and 5 round tables for groups of 4 to 6 students. We have a web cam and a Wii with Wii fit and some other educational games.

I am just starting to run workshops for teachers to learn the technology and make connections between the technology and student learning and… Continue

SMART Board Question

Is there a way to "freeze" what is on the SMART Board so that students can be using it but the teacher can be using the computer for something else? If so, how?

Thanks for your assistance,

Flash File -partial download

Salutations, I'm hoping someone has a fix for this problem. We have a couple of folks who are having difficulty downloading flash files. when downloading it gets to 99.5% and then does nothing. We have another person who can download flash files successfully into notebook, but when sending notebook files the flash files also get to 99.5%.
Any thoughs?
Thanks!

New to the group with Questions...

Hey!
I love the Smartboard and have made many lessons. I am interested in sharing resources for First Grade. Is anyone here interested?

First Attempt

This is my first official attempt at blogging. Although I am not sure how well it will go, knowing that one of the keys to teaching is staying on top of technology, I'm willing to give it a shot. The one thing I've realized while trolling this vast space we call the internet is that although social studies is an equally vast subject, there are not as many resources or ideas for using the SmartBoard in the classroom as I had hoped there would be. At this point, I've already been delighted by my… Continue

Tracking Smartboard Use?

First, my apologies for double posting this. I'm new here and I'm not sure where the best venue would be for a question like this (I also posted it in the "tips and tricks" section of the forums

Does anyone know of a built-in (or free) method of tracking Smartboard use? Ideally I'd like to track usage of Notebook as well as usage of the smartboard itself as an input tool.

Long story short, I want to set some current benchmarks for usage within department so that I can… Continue
