Thanks Judi! We'll try adjusting the settings using the remote. I guess I should have said it is a 680i that was just installed in late September.

Just wondering if anyone has an idea as to why a Notebook lesson would appear different on a computer monitor as it does on the SMARTBoard screen? Specifically, why would the background and text look great on the computer monitor (nice contrast), ...

About Me:
I am a Special Education Teacher in Massachusetts. I teach students who have significant cognitive and physical challenges. The SMART Board has been like a key unlocking the educational treasures that have been unreachable within my students. The interactive component allows my students to express and communicate their thought in ways that they never were able. I liken it to the Christmas special "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" when Santa Claus, led by Rudolph, lands on the Land of the Misfits, rescuing all of toys and finding them homes. It's Christmas every morning in our classroom when we turn on our SMART Board!

Using Flashcards

I am experiencing a mind block of some sort and can not figure out how to use the intercative math flashcard. With the older version you would simply type in the answer, but with this version I can't seem to figure out how to type in the answer-- HELP!!! I am sure it is an easy solution, but like I said I just can't seem to figure it out this morning!THANKS!

Grouping a Table

Is there a trick to grouping a table with another object? For example if I wanted to group a table with a pull tab to set the table off the screen for an answer reveal? Thanks!

Pinning a page

Just wondering if anyone knows when you pin a page in dual page mode is it only the page to the left (the first page) that you can pin? Is there a way to pin either page that is displayed? I thought perhaps you could pin the page that is highlighted, but it didn't seem to work.
Thanks and Happy New year to you all!

Toolkit question

I am creating a notebook lesson in a game format-- I have created a link from each page to the scoreboard page, but I thought in the toolkit there was a"button" to then return me to the page that was last viewed. But of course I can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated- thanks!

Anne Marie,

I created a website for my students and it has turned into something much larger than I had imagined. My website allows teachers to create interactive vocabulary games for their students. The special education teachers at my school rave about how it is so helpful for their students. I wanted to share it with you and the group. It is very teacher friendly and it is FREE! Please check out http://www.bubbabrain.com

Teachers that are interested in a screen name to create their own games can email brainteam@bubbabrain.com

Hi Anne Marie:
Thanks for your note.
I'm glad that you were able to come down for the SMART Users conference. I remember you from one of the sessions - I think it was the first one with Jim Hollis.
Have a great school year!

If you download my Notebook 10 training file using the Firefox browser, it will then open in Notebook with no problems. Otherwise, change the zip to Notebook sometimes works. I do have step by step directions on converting wav to mp3 and adding sounds to Notebook in the training file at http://exchange.smarttech.com/files/folders/mid-atlantic_smart_board_users_conference/entry3434.aspx

Anne Marie,
Could you send that notebook file again? My district didn't like the attachment. I changed the email address on the wiki site to a different account.

Thanks.

Thanks Anne Marie,
You made my day ... that is what it is all about. This is the last week of classes here at JMU and I hope to be able to finalize some of the lessons I have been working on over Christmas and post those as well. I'll let you know about the new ones. Also I have placed all of them on a CD for my students to have so they do not have to download all of them. If you would like the CD send my your school address and I will send you one!

Thanks for the comment Anne Marie. It is good to hear from you again. I look forward to reading and sharing more about the Smartboard and its many uses, especially for Special Ed. For you info I was in a Title I class with some 2nd graders and the teacher asked me to show them my Broken Clock Smartboard lesson. It was simply amazing how involved and the enthusiasm that had for working with that lesson. Please share the lessons on my Webpage with everyone!
