We use the iPod touches for research, Study Island (test prep program), Free Rice, Free Flour, etc. and instructional podcasts. I have a set of ten nanos and a class set of 30 touch iPods. There are also five MAC laptops to use with groups.

Rachel,
What topics do you teach in social studies? I am teaching 7th grade Western Civilization, but I have also taught 8th grade American History.

Information About My Classes

I teach 8th grade social studies in Hawaii. The curriculum covers the history of democracy, the American founding and an examination of the structure of the American system of government. My students also participate in Project Citizen. I'm extremely lucky to work in a one-to-one laptop school so we use the Mac almost everyday. We use Moodle, iLife series, podcasts, and the Smartboard.
