Mr. Orr shared some neat ideas of how to use extreme collaboration with your students at http://www.chatt.hdsb.ca/~orrt/?OpenItemURL=S1364DCB4  Anyone else have neat ideas of how you use the extreme collaboration with your class?

If you are working in SMART Notebook 11.1 give the widget Extreme Collaboration a try.  It is super to get students involoved when using mobile devices.

I noticed the other that when you are in dual page mode that the Magic pen does not work in SMART Notebook 10.8 or 11.1, has any one else noticed?

@Amanda, I'm afraid this will turn off the Tablet PC Input Panel instead of just the SMART Keyboard.  Do you know if that's the case and if it does, can I turn it back on?

Comment by Amanda Harris on December 13, 2012 at 10:34am

@Marilyn I did some more checking and I have another suggestion:

1) Go to your control Panel>Program features> Click "Turn Windows features on or off"

2) click the check box by "tablet OC Optional Componenets" to deselect the Input Panel option

3) Click "ok" the input panel is now disabled

4) Close out open boxes and restart the computer

**I have not tried this personally, as the previous fix worked for me. Good Luck!

@Amanda I tried your suggestion and the Keyboard keeps recreating itself. So I even tried uninstalling it and it still keeps recreating itself.  This is so very frustrating for the teacher that he actually unplugs his laptop from the SmartBoard.

@marilyn Mossman: the keyboard that is popping up on the windows 7 computer is a known SMART/Windows 7 issue. You may have noticed your cursor has also changed into a dot rather than an arrow.  You can fix this by going to your control Panel, device manager, Human Interface Devices, and disable the one listed as SMART Virtual Tablet PC.  Don't uninstall it completely, or it will reappear when windows 7 updates.

I just downloaded the newest update for Notebook 11 (with SP1) about an hour ago.  Now, when I go to full screen in Notebook, that keyboard does not exist on the side.  But, there is a slider bar on the left now.  I honestly cannot remember if it was there earlier.  But, the "hidden" keyboard is gone.

With this newest update, I open an older version 10 file, then Reopen in compatability mode, and now the missing tab problem is no longer a problem.  Tabs are still there after saving and re-opening.

Yes, Karen, that's the one.  It's called Smart Keyboard not to be confused with the Tablet Input panel.
