SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I honestly found this feature disappointing. I was expecting more. It is basically the vortex with the added feature of adding your own image instead of the vortex. I'm not a big fan of the vortex as it gives students immediate feedback. I would rather use category sort which enables students to sort, modify each others' sorts before revealing the correct answer. Sorry.

I feel the same way.  I was expecting more... but maybe this is just a start.  To get more ideas, in the gallery tab, under lesson activity examples, they have a few more samples... but it's the same idea.

I agree it was a little disappointing, but I am sure with time they will add other activities.  I do like the Vortex and my teachers and students do also.  Anything that we can do to engage students is a plus for instruction.  I hope to see the SDK soon myself!

My opinion changed when I saw some of the examples in the Gallery.  I teach high school physics and chemistry.  I thought it was too 'elementary school' for my students.  But I saw in the examples other ways to use it, some quite sophisticated.  Of course I like the Periodic Table example.
