SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I though it might be helpful if everyone shared at least on site that they find particularly helpful when teaching/reinforcing skills using the SMARTBoard. Here are a few that I have used for students who are at the cause/affect level.

Hiyah.net- great lessons created by a mom using PPT. You can use the lessons online or download and they are all free and wonderful!
Priory Woods- some great, fun switch activities- lots with music!
Askability- online newspaper incorporating symbols.
Scholastic I Spy- a great activity to reinforce comprehension, eye/hand coordination, etc. My students loved it when we used this site!

So here are a few of my favorites. Feel free to share some of yours!

iWriteWords is the app for the itouch that I like
Thank you for sharing! Askability is the one I like most for my students. Here you have two sites from my bookmarks: Magnetism explained beautifully and Free Paint Program Online with some funny interactive plays.
Here is another site that I wanted to share from Sensory World. It's an online interactive environment to teach life skills. Click on the front door to enter the house and then click on doors to enter specific rooms. This also has audio support. It presents well on the SMARTBoard.
StarFall.com - several special education schools have said they use this site for teaching early literacy skills. Some of the students are just doing cause/affect, e.g. touching something on the board to hear sounds or see action.
Hi Mike- Thanks for sharing StarFall. I agree that site is filled with some great early literacy activities.
Hi Anne Marie,

I like SpellingCity.com for customizable spelling activities that students can practice with at home as well...first grade up. Need to be able to type or use the mouse or SMARTboard.

IKNOWTHAT.com is also great...free items listed by grade and subject.
Hi Linda- I too like Spelling City very much. I know of a HS science teacher who uses this site to reinforce science vocabulary for his students! Thanks for sharing!
Just as an FYI-I posted some St. Patrick's Day resources on my blog along with a very simple St. Patrick's Day Notebook Quiz.

As I wrote about Kidde Safety today on my blog I thought this resource might be very helpful to SpEd teachers. Here the link to my blog where I postesd about it.
