Comment by Jennifer Lamb on October 16, 2012 at 9:10am We are struggling with this same issue. It occurred to me today, what if you use the Document Writer on a PC, will it pull up on the Mac? It is unfortunate the document writer doesn't work with MAC. I wish I would have known before my teachers switched!
What about Powerpoints?
Comment by Randy Tran on October 16, 2012 at 8:52am Unfortunately, document writer is not available with the mac software.
If you don't need to edit the document, the best way would be to save/export the word document as a PDF file, and then drag it into your Notebook file. Where the Windows version would include the PDF file as an attachment, the Mac version will import the content into its pages, albeit as several image objects.
Is the Document Writer available with the mac software? If not, what is the best way to get a word document into Notebook?
Comment by Obe Hostetter on October 14, 2012 at 2:22pm To save to .iwb on a MAC
1. Load up Notebook 10.8 or Notebook 11
2. Click on file-export-CFF (Common File Format which translates to .iwb)
3. Name the file. If you uncheck the box that says hide extension in the bottom left corner, .iwb will be added to your name.
4. Save.
Comment by Jennifer Lamb on October 12, 2012 at 11:00am Does anyone have a minute to explain how one gets to the point of being able to convert something to .iwb? Our new mac doesn't print to Notebook and I need a workaround. Thank you so much.
Comment by Jennifer Harper on October 10, 2012 at 4:19pm Winnie, Math Tools are not available for Mac other than the few that pop open on the tool bar. I was told that they will not function in the Mac even if you create the in the Windows world.
Comment by Winnie Richardson on October 10, 2012 at 1:03pm Are the math tools available for mac?
If not, will things I do in math tools in windows transfer to my mac when I present them?

You must have the ink layer set to take a screen shot each time you use the ink layer. Try to control click on any area of SMART Board while the ink layer is still up on the board. This will bring up the "control click" menu. Then select the appropriate setting for the ink layer. Turn off the option to capture each time you use the ink layer. Let me know if this works for you.
