Hi all,
My notebook software keeps turning pages around, and trying to format the page to landscape mode doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas?

I would highly recommend anyone trying them out to install on one computer first to make sure that they meet your needs.

Also, personal settings may change with the upgrade and the teacher will look for / expect things that were set back to default - such as the Control Panel for Pen Gestures, etc. Teachers should have an opportunity to test before going live in the classroom. All things we learned the hard way :)"

What type of SMART Board do you use? We are having issues with the 680i with Unifier 45 projectors.

Upon updating the firmware and smart software on two teacher's laptops we are receiving positive feedback. Our (tech department) tests on a fresh laptop and board were very very positive. Crisp writing, good response, solid connection. I am unable to upload the files - the spinning connection icon never progresses.

We finally have a copy of the latest firmware 5.1.1.0
Will try to update and see what happens.

If you are having issues and call Smart please ask for the Firmware updater and SMARTUninstaller.app

Smart has unveiled a "cleaner" utility which scrubs old system files. This is one layer deeper than un-installing the old software. It was an attachment from Smart Tech - if you call Smart ask them to send it along.

Hi Nancy,

Before updating the 100 computers I would suggest (from experience) to download the newest software - *as well as firmware update - and install on a spare computer. Let a teacher try this computer for a few days to catch bugs. We found a few such as upside down writing, lagging etc.

There is an elusive firmware update which should fix a few bugs but I have not been able to find this and updater claims I am up to date. Back to working the phones to find this firmware patch. When I do I will share.

I think part of the problem is in order to make the latest version work properly, you need to actually uninstall the existing version first using the uninstall feature of your Smart Notebook folders, initially I tried to just update and after that I had USB connection problems with our Smart boards, after talking with tech support at Smart they recommended to completely uninstall and then do a new install from scratch.
I'm not sure if you need to uninstall the gallery items, I don't think so.

I have a new MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard and am trying to install SMART Notebook. I keep getting an error message and install won't go through. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
