The cache folder is a temporary place the MAC stores files for many programs.  Generally it is safe to delete all the files in the cache folder or you can just delete the Notebook files.

Delete ALL of the files in the cache folder or just smart notebook files.

I am reading about all the great stuff you can do with the iPad and SMART Board, but still confused (http://www.smartedcompassblog.com/

WT.ac=HPC1_edcompassBlog_011811). Has anyone tried this? What other ideas do you have using the iPad?

We have not installed anything new.  In fact, she was using it, then stopped for a bit (closed it) and then re-opened it and that is when it became laggy. Mac OS 10.5.8. It is on a new notebook file too. We did the install from the web-site (I am assuming drivers were with it.)

Okay, got the tools, I was being stupid.

Driver version is 10.7.193.1

Ideas to try:

1. Delete all files in the user-library-cache folder

2. Run Disk Utility and repair permissions.

3. Restart the computer.

4. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling Notebook using this SMART uninstaller.

5. Reinstall the latest Notebook for MAC.

The fix for the toolbar disappearing might be just clicking on the white box in the top right corner of Notebook to bring back the toolbar.

In terms of Notebook lagging or being slow, have you installed any new updates, software, flash update or changes to your computer?  What operating system (10.4, 10.5, 10.6?)  Does Notebook act slow with a brand new blank Notebook?  Have you updated the SMART Board drivers too?

My wife is running the newest Notebook. She has been using it for over a week.  All of a sudden she lost her tool bar, and it is REALLY LAGGY. Several seconds in between mouse clicks to register then all of the clicks will happen at once. We re-installed the notebook software and that did not help.  Any help would be great.

Thanks

@Tracey> If you've previously installed Notebook Software and had that activated, it should pick up on the already existing activation data.  Also, it is a good idea to update the drivers as well, since each version usually brings to the table more performance improvements and bug fixes.

If you do find that it is not activated, let me know, I can try to dig that information up.

I have just downloaded the Notebook 7 and the flash files are working. Do I need to upgrade the drivers for the board as well. I just don't have a product key at this stage...didn't go get the serial no off the board yet. Will it get the key from the previous software ie the drivers? Or will I only have 30 days?
