SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I just checked Smart's support page and discovered as to today there's new Notebook version and product drivers. The page states:

SMART Notebook: 10.6.95.0 released January 14, 2010
SMART Product Drivers: 10.6.48.0 released January 14, 2010

These do not show up when I run the Smart Product Update. So I'm downloading the file manually right now and will install tonight.

I have a MacBook Pro 2.66 GHZ Intel Core 2 Dou running OS X 10.6.2.
I'll post later tonight if I can even open Notebook even opens. I can't test with my SmartBoard since it back in my classroom. I'll do so tomorrow.

Here's the page link to the software.

Wish me luck....

Sadly, I still can't get Notebook to launch.
Notebook crashes upon launch.

I was really hoping this would work out.
I wrote to Smart.
We'll see what happens next.
Now all we need is response to be snow leopard compatible.
FWIW - this new version of Notebook runs fine on my MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 10.6.2. The previous version of Notebook released in October also ran without crashing.
I installed this latest version just now, it does work but they still did not address the connectivity issue, as a matter of fact it is still like it was before, where I have to run the connection wizard every time for the Notebook software to recognize the Smartboard.
Sometimes the connection wizard fails and I have to tap to board to get it to go, so not sure what this update is supposed to address......
Alright I got it running.

While I originally did uninstall all smartboard software before installing the new version the software stilled crashed upon launch.

Smart support sent me a prompt response to my crash log. I followed all of the steps, including downloading an "cleaner" program and following the "Manual Clean Up".

I then reinstalled the new software.

I have successfully launch and used the Notebook software 3 times this morning.
Thank you Smart Support. They were very prompt in their help. Thanks so much.

It's great to be back and up and running smoothly.
I forgot to include the instructions from Smarttech.
Sorry about that.
This also includes the link to download the "cleaner" app.
This really worked, so if you're having problems give this method a try.

I manually updated my laptop and have had good luck with the USB connection issues. I have not had the Notebook crashing issues that some have had so I can not speak to that. I love that I can now not have to Force Quit SMARTBoard Tools each time I boot my laptop even if I am not using a SMARTBoard. What an obvious oversight on their part that lasted over a year for Mac users.

I had not heard of the cleaner tool so will try that as well. I always uninstall SMART software before installing a new version as it has usually been more successful.

Thanks for the help.
This is a follow up on my earlier post where I still could not get automatic connectivity when plugging in the usb cable, this is now working great after uninstalling the previous version of Notebook and subsequently reinstalling the latest software.
I have tried this on both the regular MacBook and the MBP's, so I'm a happy camper.
Hi,

I am a newbie on the use of the software, and it seems that you are talking about the SmartBoBard, but I am having USB issues with my Macbook (white model 2,1 and OSX 10.6.4) and Smart Response clickers. It shows up in the System Profiler, but I get no connectivity. Does anyone have a workaround about this? The notebook 10.0.346.2 version of the software seems to run fine.
It works fine in Windows 7, but the idea to go to Powerpoint after falling in love with keynote looks like a nightmare.

thanks
