A Revolution in Education
Is anyone else having the huge problems I am having with this software? It crashes all the time and is so unstable, its like working with a quail egg and is so frustrating. After contacting Smart support they said they knew about the problems and they would be fixed in the next release of the software in spring 2012. Thanks a lot for that!
Get the Notebook, Response, and Driver patches at Download Link
Matt, Recently I've been having issues with downloading files from Smart Exchange and when I go to open them, they crash the whole Notebook software. Typically, only page 1 will begin to load and then the software crashes.
Will this patch take care of that?
I was at Jennifer Uhl's CCS this weekend. Almost all the mac users had this problem when they tried to open her file. After the patches were applied, they could open it. So I think it would. This is for MAC OS 10.6+. Someone who had 10.5.8 couldn't get the patches to install. He found somewhere that it wasn't for 10.5 or less.
Worked like a dream!
Thanks so much Matt! I haven't had a chance to test this properly yet but just working with Notebook yesterday it seemed good.
Have any of you guys installed Windows on your Mac using Parallels or Bootcamp to be able to run Notebook and Math Teacher tools? I am trying to find time to do this for our teachers. That way, we don't have to feel like the redheaded stepchild at a family reunion. Haha.
Yes, I had Windows on my MAC. My experience was if I tried to use SMART Notebook in Parallels on my MAC, it was too slow and didn't work well so I switched to boot camp and SMART Notebook 10.6 and 10.7 has been working great on MAC 10.5 and 10.6.
Hi John... Yes I have done a few demos of Math tools using VMWare Fusion. It is a bit slow but worked. The advantage with VMWare or Parallels is that you can use the Mac OS for everything else without restarting which is why I have never tried Bootcamp.
I like laptops connected to IWB because teachers can take their MacBooks with them to edit their lessons. Then they do not have any downloading or file compatibility issues. We will not spend the money on VMWare or Parallels until next budget year. thanks
