lost connection
We have all our computers on a server. Each grade level (K-5) has a different dock. I use one computer to demo on the smartboard. For each class I sign in using a student account so that the kids see the same screen they will see when they log in. After each class, I log off. When I log back in again for another class the light on the smartboard is blinking and I have to go to applications, smart drivers, additional tools, smartboard service to reset it. It takes awhile. Anyone have any ideas. No time between classes so the kids have to wait.

I am not sure it is quicker but you can also go to the control panel and click on Connection Wizard and it will stay the blinking light. Our district recently reimaged our macs using OSX 10.5.8, combined with Notebook 10.0.346 and we no longer need to use quick fixes when connecting to random boards.

Using the system preferences-SMART control panel-Connection wizard or SMARTBoardservice seems to take the same amount of time. It can take anywhere from 5-30 seconds to get a steady green light.
I make a shortcut or alias to the SMARTBoard service icon. I have put a shortcut to the SMARTBoardservice app on several teacher's desktops or under Macintosh HD by holding down the Apple and Option keys while dragging the icon to the desktop. This make it an easy icon to locate. -
