SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Last year I did not use my airliners at all.  I just pulled them out and charged them up to make sure that I still knew what I was doing with them.

I am running MAC OS 10.6.4

I am using bluetooth assistant to help pair up the device.  I was able to easily pair up with my husband's Blackberry, so I know the assistant works fine.

Both slates are found, but won't complete the pairing process.

Does anyone have any help?

Thanks,

Jenn

Having MAJOR issues with connecting to the SMART Slate. Any ideas? We are switching between computers--but it decides when to work and when NOT to work.
Super fussy.

So I'm assuming you have the WS200 Smart Slates. Make sure you have the correct drivers. Then make sure you are running OSX 10.6.4.

That seemed to be the ticket for me. It wouldn't connect until I had both the driver and OS.

I could get the WS100 Airliner slates working without the OS and driver update.

Obe has been working on this same problem that you are having.

It's weird. I was wondering if the internal blue tooth on the mac is interfering with the usb blue tooth for the slate? The drivers are right, as we update our laptops each year--so we have the most recent drivers. However, I do not understand why one minute it is working and then the next time I connect it it is not. The stinky thing was I was in the middle of teaching a class for staff development when it decided to NOT connect. It was just fine this weekend, then in front of everyone it decides to NOT work..grr..
Are these drivers different from our notebook/smartboard ones? Can you explain, because I don't understand...thanks Jen!
Yes, the bluetooth drivers for the slates are different than the Notebook drivers. If you had it working, this weekend on the same computer, then I don't know why either.

Also to note, I don't use the USB bluetooth as our MacBook Pros have bluetooth built in.

Scroll to the bottom of this page for the WS200 bluetooth driver:

How do you use your built in bluetooth? I was wondering if it is conflicting and maybe that is why its not working. Because it says it is paired, but then it doesn't work. What steps do you use to connect? As our macbook has builtin blue tooth too--but we are using that USB...

Also, clicked on the link, but that is for Windows 7, do you have the mac version?
Ahhh...I opened up System Preferences

Under the heading "internet & Wireless", I clicked on "Bluetooth".

Once that window opened, I clicked the "+" sign to add in the slate and then just followed the directions on each of the screens that popped up.

Well, no luck my WS200 SMART Slates won't connect to my MACs running 10.6.3 or 10.6.4 with the latest Notebook 10.6 drivers and Notebook. I also tried a different Targus usb bluetooth dongle but all I get is pairing or connecting and the slates never connect.

SMART suggested trying this dongle CB-545 NGear Bluetooth USB ADapter V2.0 100M Range since it seems to work better. I am waiting to get it.
I know Obe, same thing has happened here. Have you tried using just the internal bluetooth like Jenn had suggested to me? I haven't had a chance to mess with it again.

Do you think when the new Notebook comes out (11), that it will be better?
Problem is that these new imacs have no internal bluetooth so that is not an option for me.

Notebook 11 will add some new features, fix a few problems and probably create new problems. That is the nature of technology.
I didn't realize that your Macs did not have an internal bluetooth. Our MacBook Pros do, so that is why I recommended that we go that route.
