I've hooked up the ELMO, but my computer keeps telling me it doesn't see a document camera. It says I need drivers, but I downloaded the software from the ELMO website. I can't even get the image to appear on the screen. I watched Matt's video, but I'm not at the point I can use it yet.

Thanks for the great site! Plan on using it in the computer lab this week and creating a "contest" between classes by recording class totals on a bar graph...winning class gets "Rice Crispy" treats on Friday. Have bookmarked it for those times in class I need a quick "filler" activity (not often, but nice to have available)

We do Free Rice on our SMART Board. One student is in front, and the rest of them have little white boards and pens. THey write the answer they think is right on their whiteboards and the student in front has to decide whether to use the others' answer or not. They like this for a while. Like about 15 minutes. At freerice.org you can choose from a number of different subjects so they stay interested for a while. They also like that they are donating rice.

Jessica, do you have an Elmo or a SMART Document camera? If you have a SMART Document camera, all you do is click on the document camera icon in Notebook 10 to see a live image.

If you have an Elmo, see Matt Granger's excellent video tutorial at http://smartboardrevolution.ning.com/video/using-an-elmo-document-camera

Help with the ELMO-SMARTboard connection....

Hi all! I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have an ELMO tt02u, and I can't figure out how to hook it up to my laptop and/or computer. I would like to use the ELMO (document camera) to show live things to my students as well as screen capture things I don't have access to digitally. Can anyone give me a play by play on how to do this? I've connected things, but I always see a completely gray screen in the Notebook software.

Thanks!
Jessica

Hi Ken,
When I first started "playing" with my SMART Board, the information on the SMART Training Center was very helpful. I also found the SMART Exchange was a great way to explore lessons made by other teachers and post questions. Both sites (and more) can be easily accessed through the Teacher Hub at http://education.smarttech.com/ste/en-US/Ed+Resource/Teachers+Hub/default.htm Hope that helps...

Hey all,

Relatively new to this Smartboard phenomenon. Had one installed in my classroom last year, and really did not have a chance to play with it prior to school so it basically was used for videos. Would like to learn more about the capabilities for my US History class as well as research some good lesson plans........

Any help?

Thanks--Ken
