No. There is no animation option to do that. That said, there may be a work around. You can use the page recorder to record the movement. Then hit play, and watch it go. You could also have it hidden first, start the page recorder, tap the image to reveal it, and drag it around. Click stop recording. Then you can hit play to start the animation.

I don't believe you can create a custom path, just choose from top right, top left, bottom right, bottom left, right side, left side, top or bottom

Does anyone know if you can custom design an animation path on the page?  Much like you can with a PowerPoint presentation? Thanks.

Hey, Zena -

I typically use the SMART Recorder with my laptop to make podcasts (usually as .mov files) that I then share on iPod touches or other mobile devices/platforms.

Does anyone know how to use the iPod touch as a wireless mike with the Smartboard recorder?  I have downloaded the software Mobiola headset and uploaded the APP onto the iPod touch but Smart recorder does not "hear" what I say on the iPod touch.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Don’t know if you are looking for a more technical discussion but in relation to the group descriptor - A community and resource center for tech coordinators and staff who are supporting schools with SMART

SMART tech support: I work at an R-12 school (1,200 students) with 2 full time and one part time IT technicians on site (yes, I am very lucky).  I am Primary ICT and R-12 smartboard coordinator for teachers. One thing I’ve noticed is that when you respond to a call out (we receive them via email to computing and there are 4 of us who can respond)  to fix a smartboard, the sad reality is that 80% of teachers are not interested in how you fix their smartboard problem, they just want it fixed so they can continue their lesson. So I’ve found this works:

  1. Figure out how to fix it first (remember I’m teacher support not Tech)
  2. Then politely interrupt and teach the students and the teacher how to fix the problem

This works!  21st century kids are IT savvy and they want to know how things work. Sometimes I get emails in regards to computing problems (ie monitor won’t turn on) and I ask my Year 3 students, ‘Who would like to check the monitor cable in computer room (x)?’  and 23 hands shoot up in the air.

Another thing to think about to is the lingo that technicans speak in terms of assisting teachers. Often I will ask the IT technicians at school how to fix a problem, they will show me and then I will go into the classroom and teach the teachers and students.  Don't get me wrong, I'm great friends with my techs but they sometimes word things which confuses the average teacher (even sometimes myself). Any thoughts on involving students to support staff with troubleshooting ideas?
