@Colette, I know a teacher can save his/her teacher file on a network drive. I think you just have to browse when you first set it up or you can move it to the network drive after its set up and double click on the file in the network drive to open it so SMART Response knows where to find it later.

Anyone know if SMART Response Teacher Tools can be loaded via a network, not to C drive, to avoid deep freeze every night?

Vickie, you don't have to put the license codes in again. Notebook will identify your codes you've already registered. If you have problems, I know that you can call Smart, with a Product ID (serial number) and they can send it to you.

Also, Collette Retrosi (see below) was at the same training I was and stayed for certification, I believe. She might have some more ideas about this.

Colleen,
You asked about importing pdfs on a Mac into SMART Response. At the SMART training I went to last week, I was told that questions have to be fairly straightforward and simple on a pdf. The answers have to be listed vertically, not horizontally, and I think you have to be using Leopard (10.5) for it to import pictures. But I also got some garbage symbols after the last answer and a few here or there. I think if I was using Mac OS 10.4, it wouldn't have imported any of the images at all.
Leopard "sees" things in a more advanced way.
Overall, though, it was very useful to import files that way.
I wound up copying and pasting the questions and answers onto SMART Response page templates from the Lesson Activity Toolkit to add color.

What does the new update for Response allow you to do.

Yeah...I probably should have done 1 first, but both laptops were 1 month old, running 10.6 and teachers were having all kinds of problems with SMARTBoard software...Hopefully this fixes the Notebook problems and I can deal with SMART Response for them later...just thought I was saving myself some time, but not always the case, is it? :-)

I would only update one computer and test it for a few weeks before installing the lastest software on all your computers. Typically with any computer update, the latest computer update will fix previous problems and cause a few new bugs.

I haven't updated to 10.6 yet, so I don't know. The information that I received was to uninstall drivers/notebook/Smart Response when upgrading to 10.6. Upgrade to 10.6 and then when you do the reinstall, go to the "Software Downloads" page on Smarttech.com and download the "bundle" located under Smart Response. Meaning: When you click Smart Reponse it has in the single download the drivers/Notebook/Smart Response.

Jennifer, thanks a million. I saved my lab iMac until last to upgrade software and didn't have a problem thanks to your directions! It automatically activated!!!
Will this work for Mac Book laptops running 10.6 that didn't previously have the SMART Response software on them???
