Thanks Stacey.  I currently have most of my presentations save to a network, so I'll try to put them on a local drive to see if that fixes the problem.  It also appears to be related to the size of the file as well, which seems weird to me.

Joe,

Where is your Teacher Tools saved?  I ran into a similar problem when teachers saved their Teacher Tools to the network or a USB and not the local drive (usually Documents area on a Mac I believe).  SMART suggests saving to a local drive and not the network as there are background processes running that can hit bumps because of network restrictions at times.

I have version 4.0.340.0.   I had problems with Power Point/Smart Ink, had a 3 hour plus phone call with Smart Support Tuesday.  After something was lost, they had to uninstall my Response, then reinstall.  Maybe that is why my number is newer.  I worked today, as it did the last 3 weeks.

Karen,

I did download from online, so I assumed that it upgraded both Notebook and Response.  I just checked and I have Response 4.0.249.0.  Is this the most current version?  To answer your other question, I usually start my class through Teacher Tool first and then open Notebook.  When I start a question, I do try to start it from the tab on the side.

I'll double check to make sure I have the most current version of Response.  Thanks!

Joe,

I don't have a Mac, so I am not sure I can assist.

We just upgraded to Notebook 11 AND the newest Smart Response, and I have not had any major problems, except learning the new Response.

When you start the class, are you opening Response separately from Notebook, starting the class, then in the left side tab in Notebook, starting the question?

When you upgraded to Notebook 11, did you do this with the download online, which can also upgrade the Response if needed?  You might want to check this for updates.

Since I don't have a Mac, I am not sure I can help.

I'm having an issue with Notebook 11 and Response communicating with one another.  I'm set up on a Mac (OS X 10.7.4), and my problem is when I go to start a question or add an instant questions.  After I press start, nothing will happen and a message will appear that I have not started my class in response, even though class has been started and the kids are signed in and ready to go.  This problem only began after I upgraded to Notebook 11.  Any thoughts on how I can fix this problem?

Can you import Multiple Choice questions from MS Word into SMART Response software? I recall doing this with using Notebook 9 and SENTEOS but am unaware of how to do this using Notebook 11 and the latest version of the SMART Response software. Thanks for your help.

Matt Granger just posted this at:  http://smartboardrevolution.ning.com/group/senteointeractiverespons...

Mitch's reply works great if you want to advance one slide at a time with the students. However, if the students are taking them independently at their desks with the paper in front of them, then you need to watch this video to see how to make the required notebook file and enter the correct answers in minutes.

Any tips out there for using Response with .pdf files?

However if you tag the questions you will be able to create bar graphs with very detailed info
You can print or display individually on your board during a p/t conference.
