Do you know what the changes are? I am finally used to Senteo 2.0, so I'm worried about upgrading at this point. But then I don't want to miss out on great new features.

To echo the previous item, I really do want to know exactly how this is working before I leap. The move from Senteo 1 to 2 was, in my opinion, premature. I switched immediately to 2 and had to ask everyone else not to follow me as I ran into all sorts of issues. As a classroom teacher, I'm loath to sign up for a new tech learning curve in May just before I use my Senteos for some review work. So, if anyone who works as a tech specialist feels like being the guinea pig on this, please share what you find!

Per the SmartTech site here is what has changed from Senteo 2:
Senteo software 2.0 users
If you're upgrading from Senteo software 2.0, you'll see that we've made a few improvements, such as offering you the choice of seeing test results displayed in both pie charts and bar graphs. You can also drag the chart or graph onto a SMART Notebook page to get a closer view and add your own annotations in digital ink.

The images gallery looks like little has changed in terms of interface, which is hopeful.

I don't have Senteo Clickers just yet, but am looking at them since we have so many SMARTBoards in our school. I downloaded the Senteo Response System software and it looks fairly easy to use.
I noticed that there are Senteo quiz question templates in the new Lesson Activity Toolkit. Is it possible to type your questions into the SRS so that they appear automatically in the templates, or do I have to edit each template page separately if I want to use the templates?

Don't upgrade to the lastest SMART Response (Senteo 2's new name). People are reporting problems on windows and mac computers. TeqSmart even blogged about it at http://blog.teqsmart.org/2009/05/please-hold-off-on-installing-smar...

If you want to upgrade or install Senteo 2, then first uninstall Notebook and uninstall Senteo 1.
It is fine to upgrade to Senteo 2. Here are the direct links for installing Senteo 2 for windows or mac.

Of course I would discover this advice not to upgrade to SMART Response NOW, as I've just spent the past two days updating about 50 computers. Classic. :)

The install wrapper I used came from a SMART regional training a colleague attended on May 6th. After each installation, I checked for updates just to be sure all of the components, like the LAT 2.0 and the latest drivers, installed properly. For the most part, it looks like everything installed properly. Obe, I noticed that TeqSmart came out with another blog on May 7th that said it was ok to download now. What are your thoughts on this?

Hopefully, your SMART Response will work fine. There were several problems with Notebook or floating tools not working after users upgraded to SMART Response.

Generally, I am cautious about any computer updates. Updating the latest Windows updates, Adobe Flash or SMART Response or any other update can cause problems so here is what I typically do with new computer updates. I would download and install the SMART Response update to a few computers. I have a few tech savy teachers who are willing to test out new or updated software for me and are willing to deal with problems that might arise. After testing it out for at least 3-6 months, then I install it on all of the teacher's computers. Typically, most bugs are worked out of any computer update 6 months after the original release date.

Was there a huge difference in Senteo2 to SMART Response? Just curious. We still have quite a few using Senteo1 just because they like having the box to start/stop right there without having to go into the tab to do it. Plus, they can see who they're waiting for without going into the tab.

I just saw today that they still have the SMART Response download pulled. Any idea when it will come back? Later this month? Later this summer?

I went to the SMART website to check out the Senteo/Response downloads and it seems that have whizzed past Senteo 2.0 to SMART Response 2009 to a Coming Soon version. So, if I am using a Senteo system purchased last year, do I download 2.0, 2009, or wait for the "Coming Soon" version?

I would stick with Senteo 2 since this version has been out a while and works. SMART Response 2009 is a new update/release that is causing problems for most people.

We are piloting the SMART Response- at first needed to upload the patch to fix the driver issue- but now everything is fine and it has been working great. I upgraded my home laptop tonight and it seems that everything has been fixed on SMART's end- so far I haven't had any issues.

We will be going with the new Response software on our newest image- it does seem the way to go, especially since the help documents and videos are readily available on their website for teachers to access.

I upgraded from Senteo 1.0 to Senteo 2.0 to Smart Response. At first I had several issues, but a quick call to tech support and I realized it was me, not the software. I wasn't telling the software to open the correct file first.

However, two days ago, I updated my Operating Software to MAC 10.5.7. Now I just get a solid red light on my receiver.

I tried restarting my computer. Opening the Teacher Tools and starting the class, then opening the Notebook file in all sorts of combinations.

I was hoping someone would have a quick fix before I called tech support.
