SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Is there a way to disable the weak signal message from the Smart Responses from popping up on my computer?  Its become somewhat of a distraction for students who like to see their names come up.  Thanks!

Nick,
That's a good question. I did not notice this until I recently installed updates. I hope someone is able to answer this question. Thanks.
Great question! I had 7 student remotes display that same message first period. I, too, have recently updated. There must be a connection....Anyone know?
Hi everyone,

See the following thread over at SMART Exchange for a workaround to the issue.

http://exchange-forum.smarttech.com/forums/p/6366/14442.aspx#14442
Thanks for the workaround. I'll try it right now.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
Thanks for the information...I tried this, restarted my computer, and it still did not work for me. Has it worked for anyone else who tried it?
I ran a test class after lunch after installing the workaround, and no weak signal messages appeared. I left the offending clickers from this morning's class on about 10 minutes.
Guess I should've tested it more than once. Because the next day, the weak signal was back in full force. Are my Response batteries really that low or is it really a software problem?
Try new batteries and see with the clickers showing a weak signal.

I would also recommend putting the Response receiver up high where nothing blocks the receiver from direct line of sight of the student clickers. Technically, this is not needed since the Response uses radio frequencies. Another idea to try is to limit how close the Response receiver is to wireless Internet routers or 2.4 Ghz cordless phones since the Response is using the same frequency.
Do you have a work around for a Mac user with this problem?
Sorry. I don't. Try searching the rest of the site. There are quite a few of us who have this problem. Perhaps the SMART site has a Mac workaround?
Just thought I'd let all of you know, the signal/battlery alerts are going to be completely removed in Response 3.0 coming in the summer (July most likely).
