Breezin'Thru Theory SMART Board Lessons for Theory & Compositio...   If you need some quick music theory lessons we have some great "quick lesson" resources here. They are all from our complete product, The Breezin' Thru Theory SMART Board Teacher's Companion which has been given Elite Accreditation by SMART Board. Breezin' Thru Theory is now being used in schools across North America.

Breezin' Thru Theory SMART Board Teacher's Companion now sold separately. Great for teaching music fundamentals and composition. Links to the first 7 chapters of the Breezin' Thru Theory online E-Binder that has online lessons, drills and composition activities. Students can do drills interactively right in the online E-binder and get auto assessed. http://breezinthrutheory.com/

Last year I was looking for a challenge so I decided to create a SMART board presentation which involved music. I considered it a challenge because not only can I not play an instrument or read music, I can’t even sing! I teamed up with a work colleague (Valeska Laity; Music  Teacher) and we put together a full day SMART Professional Development program for music/drama teachers. I have uploaded a small part of the presentation which includes interactive SMART board activities and online resources for:

-          Listening and making music

-          Rhythm (clapping rhythm, symbols for rhythm, rhythm speed)

-          Pitch (high and low sounds, reading music)

You can download the Notebook document from:

Hey, all - just posted the stuff my 4th & 5th graders did at the end of the year - bird song compositions by the 4th graders: http://mrmcdadesroom.wikispaces.com/4th+Grade

& various renderings of Miles Davis' "All Blues", played by the 5th graders: http://mrmcdadesroom.wikispaces.com/5th+Grade

Enjoy!

Help!! I've posted this problem on Smart Exchange and written to two people and so far... no answers.

Is there a reason that some lessons cannot be previewed? I have seen some that appear to not be "previewable", but once you click on it, the preview does come up. And then there's mine... all I see is an "x" on each page. Did I do something wrong when I submitted the lesson???

Was wondering what problems y'all are having w/ Sibelius & the SmartBoard. I've got the Sibelius Student version installed on a bunch of our school's computers, & the problems we've had are:

1. Keep getting a warning in Sib. Stud. that the "Auto Save" function isn't working properly - my building tech says that's because the district's network won't allow that feature to work (thinks it's a virus, or an unauthorized plug-in, or something...)

2. The note input window keeps disappearing on us - we can get it back, but w/ younger students (elem.), it's kind of a pain to have to deal w/.

3. We don't use Sibelius directly on the Smt Brd, it just doesn't seem to work well w/ an interactive surface. We have a wireless keyboard & mouse that we pass around.
