SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Today, while remediating for their second stab at our End of Grade math tests, my students were working on some sections of ClassScape (a "test-like" program our school subscribes to). One of my students had opened Smart tools and was highlighting, marking on the coordinate grid, and writing various numbers over her ClassScape problem. I was thrilled! I know this may sound basic to you, but my students really hadn't been shown to use the Smart tools on the laptops. We use them every day on our classroom Smartboard, but hadn't utilized them individually (DUH!). I had my student show her classmates how to get to the tools on our student screens and many more of them used this strategy to help them. Moving from a pencil and paper tests to the computer screen can be difficult for some students who are used to writing all over their problem. The Smart tools provide a wonderful solution! Why didn't I think of that!! Thank goodness for our tech-savvy students! I plan to blog about it at Swimming in the River later today and include some photos. Hope you'll check it out!
