I've been teaching forever but only got a smartboard this year. I don't know how I've worked without one for so long! The effect it has on the development of teamwork alone is brilliant!

One of the teachers in the primary SMART Revolution blog (Will Lingle, I believe) uploaded a behavior chart he made using the SMARTBoard. We use a few more colors than he does at our school (Green/Yellow/Blue/Purple/Red) and in a slightly different order, so I'm uploading a variation of his chart. We also have some bigger classes, so I added a few pockets to this chart.

Last year I started putting my morning journal work on the SMARTBoard, (sentence editing, review math or grammar skills). I saved by month, so this year all I have to do is change the date and tweak as needed.

I am a fourth grade teacher and just finished my first full year with my SMARTBoard. I started slowly and now I couldn't be without it. I joined a SMARTBoard User group in school system which helped us share and problem solve for and with each other. I've used it for just about everything.

Autumn
for your Everday Math, how about using the split screen and "pin" the word wall so it does not change?

Hi all. I am new to smartboard technology in the past 2 weeks, I am developing Everyday Math with Lucy Gray, but was wondering has anyone been able to create a word wall or something like it that stays on the screen as you go through a presentation? I want my students to be able to add to, reference, etc the word wall throughout the lesson without having to go back on the presentation. Any ideas?

I am a fourth grade teacher in Illinois--I'll be getting my first SMART Board in August 2009. In the past two weeks I've completed a five-day Connecting Link course with SmartNotebook 10, and a five-day technology 'Moveable Feast' sponsored by the University of IL. I'm now leaving the anxious feeling behind . . I'm getting excited about using a SMART Board next year. I would love to hear what other fourth grade teachers have done with their SMART Boards.

I teach a dyslexia reading/spelling program to 1st - 5th graders. I've been using my SMARTboard for almost 2 years and find that it's a perfect format for teaching a multisensory program. Love the Lesson Activity Toolkit!!!

I teach grade 4/5 in Victoria, BC, Canada and my new smartboard is in boxes at the back of my classroom just waiting to be installed! I am excited to get going with it and I am also looking forward to getting many new ideas and strategies from this group. I am starting a new math program in the fall, so I looking foward to incorporating this new program with the Smartboard.

I am a fourth grade teacher and have just begun working with the Smart Board in my classroom. My teaching style has totally changed since this new piece of technology was placed in my classroom. I am looking forward to sharing ideas and lessons with the members of this group!
