Thanks so much for sharing. This looks like an interesting way to study vocabulary words, as well. I wonder if they work on iPads. I'll find out and let you know!

Just thought I would share one of my favorite sites for reviewing anything from Math to Social Studies. I love this site because it is easy to use, has lots of premade resources, is similar to my portal can be accessed anywhere, and is a fun way to review on the Smartboard for tests etc.

Does anyone have Words Their Way Word Study lessons?  I'm needing any and all Within Word, Syllables and Affixes, and Derivational Relations Stage lessons that you are willing to share.

Thanks, in advance!

Shari

I'm teaching 5th grade language arts for the first time in 8 years. The writing program was recently adopted last year but the reading program isn't new. Learning Headquarters Writing Program and Guided Reading but I don't know if there is a formal reading program other than these.

Dianne, I'm just curious. What new curriculum are you using this year. I also teach 5th grade and will be teaching a reading class along with my math classes. We will be using the Success For All Reading curriculum but I haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Hey folks ... I just returned from ISTE 2010 and I am catching up on all the comments. For those new to SMART boards there are lots of resources to find lessons. The SMART Exchange is a good place to start. I also have a Portaportal as well. Enter Harveys as your Guest Access. My homepage HarveysHomePage.com has lots of free elementary math lessons as well. Just be sure to download them with Firefox. The other browsers sometimes do not decompress the files properly. I echo what Cammy says about once you use it you will wonder how you ever taught without it. I look forward to seeing Cammy's wikispace. Have fun folks with the SMART board. Please do not hesitate to ask for help. There are lots of resources right here to help. Hope all of you have a fun summer.

Cammy,
Thank you so much for sharing those resources. I am in CA so we do use CA state standards but for math we align with national standards at my school. I know I am going to love the smartboard and it will be great to also be able to let my students teach me what they know! They will have been in classrooms for a few years using one already. Thanks again.
