My class is about to read the novel Because of Winn-Dixie and I am looking for resources. I found one notebook lesson on the SMART Exchange, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Does anyone have any files to share? I'd love them, and I'd be very appreciative!

I also read this book every year. I LOVE it! I'm attaching my version but several chapters are missing in the middle, as my computer crashed last year and I lost everything.

I love this site and use it often for alternative homework assignments and book reports. I didn't know thay had a section for Winn-Dixie. I like the flip book and the kiddos haven't used it this year. Thanks.

I have finished creating a Notebook lesson with interactive lessons and activities, as well as student pages for the novel. Here is my completed Because of Winn Dixie Unit. The only thing you will have to change is on the chapter title pages. I am in the middle of the book and these are the ones my class came up with so far! After each chapter, I have the kids write down a response to the question and then they pair off to discuss and then we share out.

I added some of Shelly's slides and I made a quiz, added discussion questions etc.

Another class and I are not quite half way through the book and we have been meeting on-line through a google doc to have the classes chat with eah other as we conduct our class discussions.
