A Revolution in Education
Does anyone have any suggestions for a wireless mic to use with a Smartboard when recording video and audio? I've used a wired microphone before but either it ties me to the desk a lot (limiting my ability to use the Smartboard fully or to walk amongst my students) or the sound is so faint that it's like there's no audio at all. If you use one, please let me know what kind you use. Thanks in advance for the help.
Andy, Do you want to use the Mic for PA thru your Smart Board? I will get back to you tomorrow r/e the wireless mic I've haad the best luck with in the video work I do.
Andy, I must not have gotten back to you! Azden makes many models of wireless mics. If you look at B & H Video's website out of NYC, you will find many models there (or even try e-bay). I use a UHF mic system; however, a VHF system should work just fine. You can attach a mic (lapel mic) and sending unit (wired from your pocket to the mic) to yourself (powered by a 9V battery) and the receiver unit (also pwered by a 9V battery) can atach to your computer through the mic jack. Contact me if you need more info. gsk
ANDREW, DID YOU EVER GET A REPLY TO THIS? I WOULD LIKE TO USE A WIRELESS MICROPHONE IN MY CLASSROOM TOO THROUGH THE EXISTING SMARTBOARD SPEAKERS.
PLEASE PASS ON YOUR HELPFUL REPLIES.
I have used a cell phone bluetooth headset microphone for recording videos with the SMART Recoreder. It took a while to set up, but works quite well and I'm not tethered to my computer. I've done this for screen casts to post for absent students and to record lessons for a sub to show.
Your computer will have to support bluetooth, or you can get a USB bluetooth dongle. I used the one that came with the SMART Slate.
I tried to use it as an amplification system, but had problems with feedback.
