SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

we just renovated our school and every room has a smartboard--fantastic. One of my friends has one that the SmartBoard view does not seem to fit. The projection is larger than the screen so that the toolbars are off the side and unusable. She has to go to her computer to work the toolbar. It will probably be something like she will have to have her board moved, but I am so hoping that does not have to happen. the projector is mounted in the ceiling and I don't think the school will take the inititive to move it. Does anyone know how to control the remote to try to adjust it to see if we can get it to fit a little better? Maybe a step-by-step process? If so, it is greatly appreciated :)

Is it an issue of the wrong resolution setting? Every projector has a 'best resolution'. I know we have 3M arm projectors and they like 1024x768. If it isn't set at that the toolbar doesn't fit and you have to open the end of the toolbar to choose.

If it is a matter of the image not projecting onto the SB then you need to adjust the image so it does (using projector settings). You shouldn't have to move the SB, unless the projectors were mounted totally wrong-
I think it sounds like either the projector needs adjusted, or resolution...
Hard to give more advice since projectors are all different, therefore remotes are as well

So in a nutshell- if the projected image is on the board, but toolbar isn't- check resolution
If projected image isn't on SB, adjust image coming from projector
Good luck

On the projector or with the projector remote, you should be able to make the projected image larger or smaller. Some projectors control this by moving the lens near the focus lens. Other projectors have 1-2 buttons that make an image larger or smaller. There is a limit to how much the projector can adjust the image.

If you tried all the projector settings and you can't get close enough, than the last resort is to move the projector closer to the SMARTBoard. The further away the projector is from the SMARTBoard, the larger the image.
