A Revolution in Education
Over this summer, one of the high school campuses in our district in deploying Smart Boards in every classroom. This is great, except for the math department which will be giving up their Promethean boards. They've become accustomed to having an equation editor as part of ActivInspire. We have an entirely Mac environment (and no desire to support a Parallels deployment). I've spoken with the software division at SMART and they indicated that there were no current plans to bring Math Tools over to Mac.
Does anyone here know of a substitute for Math Tools on Macs? It would need to be capable of high school level math with the ability to create equations.

A form of MathType in Math Tools is actually from this company. I last used Math Type version 5 which allowed the use color for math symbols/equations which is nice. I had to create equations in Math Type and then copy and paste into my Notebook file.

Our teachers use the Microsoft equator editor and then do a screen capture or use the SMART Notebook camera tool to capture a picture of the equation that they post in SMART Notebook. Other options include Math Type or free online equation editor websites. See a YouTube movie using a website and Notebook at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGRv8i8pr_U
