SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I am successfully running OS 10.5.7 with Notebook version 10.0.346.2 using the newest flash 10 on my "old" MacBook. I am using the same configuration on a new 15" MacBook Pro and all flash files from the Activity Toolkit2.0 are only loading to 99.5% and stopping dead. I am due to go to a SMARTBoard training tomorrow and would love to take the new MacBook Pro...but not with this issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled notebook 10. Has anybody heard of this problem before? Any suggestions?

Flash doesn't work the greatest on MACs in SMART Notebook so typically I don't advertise the Lesson Activity Toolkit to MAC users. Since Notebook 10 has so many other great tools to use, I advertise how to use Notebook 10 colors, layers and tools to create interactive lessons. See my NECC 2009 presentation at http://exchange.smarttech.com/files/folders/vste/entry8192.aspx for ideas.

SMART Notebook SP2 supposedly fixed some of the flash problems....I have heard that in about a month or two, Smarttech will release SMART Notebook SP3 for MAC that should help fix more of the flash problems in SMART Notebook so I am trying to wait patiently for that release.

Looking forward to the "fix" for the Mac with SP3.

Obe, I downloaded your presentation file and went through it. I learned a few new things and was reminded of many things I knew but haven't used lately. I really liked the "camouflage using camera tool" pages. The one that I didn't understand was "Edit scanned papers using white pen." Does the word "white" refer to the color of the ink or a special pen? If it's the ink color, why does white matter instead of another color? I feel a bit dumb since I can't reason this out.

With that page, I instruct teachers to scan in student work. Change one of the pen colors to white so you can write over the word dream with the white pen and then use a different color pen (red) to write in the word vision. This makes editing a story easy.

Aah! Now I understand. Thanks for the explanation.
