SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I just visited the Snow Leopard Compatibility wiki and the entry for Smart Notebook on there is as follows.

SMART Notebook 10.0.346.2 http://smarttech.com/ WARNING.png Crashes every 10 minutes

Does anybody have any experience with Snow Leopard and your Smart Board Software?

I upgraded to 10.6.1. My Notebook software would open and I could perform a few actions, but unexpectedly quitting . I uninstalled all related SMART apps and reinstalled the most current versions. It won't even open for me now. :(
I'm hoping someone here has a solution or an update comes out real soon!
I am having trouble with Snow Leopard. My notebook files quit on me every 10-15 minutes. Did you solve this problem?
I have NOT updated to Snow Leopard yet! Here's hoping others can give an insight.
I am running 10.6.1 with the most recent service pack SP7 found here: http://downloads.smarttech.com/techsupport/k1fi2rh8stf3eja6kjs1sdl0...

Much better luck with this--much snappier, fewer unexpected quits, more reliable. A good update with no unintended consequences noted (YET). Good luck. For some reason, it still does not appear in the Smart Product Update.
I upgraded to the latest SMART service pack and am working problem free as well. I am a tech coordinator, so I pop in and out of Notebook now and then, not using as heavily as a classroom teacher. The service pack made a big difference.
I have to say that I'm pretty frustrated at the moment. I've been using a SB for over 4 years now. Feel pretty comfortable with trouble shooting, but can't seem work this out.
I'm running the latest service pack #3, 10/20/2009. I did a clean install twice and still can't get Notebook to even launch.
I'm running OS X 10.6.2. SB Tools seem to work fine, but I really need Notebook.
I feel like SMART Tech is not moving fast enough. I know that might not be fair, but that's how I feel.
Hope a fix comes out soon! Can' t access any of my old charts or lessons.
I am also having some troubles. I am trying to make a lesson on coordinate geometry and when I have a coordinate plane on the screen with more than one line drawn, Notebook will crash on me. Or if I move the lines, it crashes.

Thanks in advance.
I have been having issues with a wall mounted Smartboard losing orientation in a matter of minutes when working with my Macbook Pro and running Snow Leopard. I thought it might be a defect in the board, but am beginning to wonder if it is not a compatibility issue. As of today the Smartboard no longer detected my computer's usb connection. Has anyone else had similar issues?
Hi all
I am a tech Manager at a school. We recently moved macbooks out into the classrooms and macbook pros to the staff. Over the last 2 weeks we have had a number of problems with Smartboards and the macbooks - snow leopard. Sometimes it will be the usb not recognised, notebook freezing etc etc, and yes our colour printing stopped and we had the issues of reinstalling drivers for this....
So, after renistalling the latest notebook drivers from smartech released in Jan, some problems have been rectified. We still have a couple of boards which still drop out (power) and run slow on the macbooks.
I heard that installing Java can help this...Has anyone heard.
I would love to get back into integrating technology rather that continually fixing smartboard/mac osx issues.
Both my older mac and newer macbook pro had trouble recognising the board was connected. There is an app called "start smartboard.app" in the smartboard drivers folder. I dragged it to the dock then set it to start at log in and problem solved. If you disconnect a red cross appears and the just click on the icon to connect.Hope this helps someone.

I am wondering why my Notebook quits if I open a saved chart without opening Notebook first. I have to open Notebook then the file through the open choice in file to access my charts etc
Here is another bizarre occurrence. I am using a MBP and 10.6.2. If I write with the pens in the pen tray my writing appears on the board upside down. If I use my finger to write after selecting a pen from the tools, no problem. Also floating tools used in other apps has a case of the upside downs as well.
HI

I had this too - The way we fixed this particular prob was to download the latest version of notebook. It seemed to work for us. We still have issues with the power dropping from the serial/usb cord from board to MBP. I believe the MBP's don't generate a huge amount of power out of the USB ports.
