SMART Notebook & Drivers Patch for Mac Lion

These patches resolve issues in SMART Notebook collaborative learning software, SMART Product Drivers, and SMART Response software on Mac computers and includes fixes for Mac OS X 10.7 operating system software.

Notebook Patch

Resolved issues

• SMART Notebook software doesn't stop responding unexpectedly.
• You can play FLV files in SMART Notebook software.
• SMART Notebook software is compatible with Adobe Flash Player 11. 
• When you drag an Adobe Flash Player compatible file from the Gallery to a SMART Notebook page, the file loads completely and doesn't stop responding at 99.5%.
• When you're in Full Screen mode and you resize the toolbar the Exit Full Screen button doesn't disappear from the toolbar.
• When you're in Transparent Background mode and you resize the toolbar the Exit Transparent Background button doesn't disappear from the toolbar.
• When you use your computer's trackpad after using your SMART Board interactive whiteboard, the pointer doesn't remain hidden.
• After you install the latest updates for Mac OS X 10.6.8 operating system software, SMART Notebook software doesn't stop responding when you open files.

 

Drivers Patch

Resolved issues

• SMART Recorder doesn't stop responding.
• You can use Magnifier tool to magnify an area on your screen.
• You can use Screen Capture toolbar to capture an image of your screen

 

Response Patch

Resolved issues

• When you right-click on Teacher Tools, the software doesn't stop responding.
• When you disconnect your Senteo interactive response system receiver while Teacher Tools is running, SMART Notebook software doesn't stop responding.
• Your Senteo interactive response system receiver works when you use Mac OS X in 64-bit mode.

 

Note: Make sure that you have Notebook 10.8, Drivers 10.8 and Response 3.5 already installed before downloading and installing the patches.

Would this resolve the problem of .gif files not opening properly in .notebook file since Apple Security Update 2011-006?

I installed the patch today and I couldn't believe how slick my Notebook ran.  Bonus:  Only aligned my board once today!

We are just installing this set of patches in our district and seeing good results overall.  I strongly urge you to get the latest SMART ToolSet (Black edition) that allows you to delete all of Smart s/w in one fell swoop--takes about 7 seconds, lets you keep the gallery and has a Reset for the registry.plist, which seems to make things run better in networks.

I will (try to) upload our version.

We run the ToolSet Clean Up tool (Keep Gallery), then run these (these are the package names)

1. run the Education Software Installer 2011.mpkg (select Response if you need it)
2. run the notebook10.8patch.mpkg
3. run the drivers10.8sp1patch.mpkg
4. run the response3.5patch.mpkg
5. update everything else, especially Flash (11.1?)

 

Note: I haven't checked if the Keep Gallery tool keeps the users personal collection, so I save it for them from their My Content in the Gallery.

This is great! I just received a new work-issued MacBook with Lion. I was having trouble with the SMART Recorder. I did a little "Googling" and this popped right up. Thank you!!! :)
