SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Hello, anyone! I am working in a school where we have a SMARTboard. My question is regarding the product key. When installing the software I enter the serial number from the SMARTboard, and get a product key by e-mail. No problem. But what should the students to? My students are all over having pupils of their own in teacher practice. So a lot of them have access to SMARTboards of their own at their respective practice shools. Can they use any serial number, to obtain a product key, and still be able to switch between different SMARTboards? Is this not possible or perhaps not even allowed?

Anyone knows?

The SMARTBoard serial number is used to obtain a product key so one can use SMART Notebook software for more than the trial 30 days. Once you have a registered version of SMART Notebook on your computer, you can connect your computer to any SMARTBoard and it will work. If you have more licensing questions, I would contact Smarttech at http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/About+Us/Company+Info/Contact+Us...

The reason to register SMARTBoards is so you get an additional 3 years warranty and I would highly recommend this.
The other plus to registering is that each product key is good for 1000 licenses.
Thanks, both of you. The most important thing seems to be that our prospective teachers can use their own computers with smartboards, no matter what schools they are in.
Thanks for this info. I didn't know that the product key was good for 1000 licenses. I knew that we could use our product key on hour home computer or on student home computers that don't have a SmartBoard connected as long as we had one in our classroom.
For student's home computers, even if you legally can install Smart Notebook, they might not want you to. It's a pretty large program, when you include all the gallery objects and such. I steer students towards using Smart Web Express or Student Edition (Smart Notebook SE) which is a lighter easier installation.
