SMART Board Revolution Virtual User Group Meeting 1
A new feature of the Ning this year will be a monthly Virtual User Group Meeting. Each month we will discuss new features, training, pedagogy, and other topics related to our SMART Products. There will be special guests like SMART employees, Revolution members, and SMART Exemplary Educators sharing their lessons and expertise on all things SMART. Join us for the first meeting on:

I'm a knuckle head! For those of you who were trying to connect at 7:30 pm CDT and got the message that it wasn't available, I'm so sorry! I was in there and forgot that I had to click a Start presenting button. I had already shared my screen, and I thought I was live. I didn't realize it until about 7:38. Mea culpa!

That's a horrible time for you in Italy. Sorry. I said in my blog post about this that I really want to do some at a better time for the European, and even Australian, crowd so you can participate live. They will be recorded for everyone, however.
Thanks for the interest. Have you thought about becoming a Smart Exemplary Educator? They are looking to really expand the program in Europe. Talk to your SMART Ed Consultant about it or check your version of the SMART website.

Glad you were able to make it to Calgary ... that was such a wonderful experience for me. It gives you a better perspective of what goes on at SMART Tech.

It was a great time. A lot of great things going on there. Like they always say, quoting Wayne Gretzky, they "don't look at where the puck is, [they] look at where it is going." They have their eyes on the future and have great things in the pipeline.

Hi, I just joined Smart Board Revolution yesterday and am a beginner at Smartboards. Will this Virtual User Group meeting be way over my head? Any thoughts on that?

We are going to look at some of the new features of Notebook 10.8. Notebook is the software for creating lessons and presentations. We will also be talking about the SMART Response student response system and I'll be sharing some insight on research and best practice of questioning. So, even if you don't have the response system, the questioning part will be beneficial as a matter of pedagogy.
So, I don't think it will be. You can have notebook running on your computer during the meeting and try out the things we will be doing.
