SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Somehow I have a file that looks like a really great way to review before a test.  The first page features icons that are numbered and when you click on the number, it automatically opens up that particular page. On the page is a review question.  I went through Level 2 training but I don't recall learning how to do this.  The file I'm looking at has 25 small icons and each one immediately links to the corresponding page.  Very cool.  Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do this?

I have no idea where I got it, but I'm a rabid hunter-gatherer when it comes to teaching resources.

The pictures are linked to pages on in your file.  Right click on the icon or click the down arrow and select "Link." The default is to link to a web page but you need to change this. At the top of the new window that opened, change "Link to: Web Page" to "Link to: Page in this File."  Select the page you want. I'm terrible about renaming my pages so most of my page names are the dates and time they were created. Fortunately when you click on on of the pages, a preview picture shows up.

In the bottom right of this link window, you can choose if you want to launch the page by clicking on the corner or on the entire icon. I personally like clicking on the entire object. If my SmartBoard is just slightly out of alignment, it is tough to touch that exact spot. The disadvantage to touching the entire icon to launch the page is that it is difficult to do anything else with the icon, i.e. move, resize, etc.

If you have a lot of pages that need to be linked to each other, it will be time consuming, but it isn't difficult. It's just a multi-step process.

Thanks, Julie!  I can't wait to try it out!
