According to the SMART website, SMART Response won't run on Windows computers with Intel Itanium processors.
Sometimes, the older versions of SMART Response work better. I would run this SMART uninstaller, restart your computer and then install the SMART Response 2010 (without the SP1).

Permalink Reply by Obe Hostetter on May 16, 2011 at 2:57pm I don't know if you have already tried this, but I was told to uninstall SMART Notebook, SMART Response, and all SMART Drivers. After doing this, reboot your computer and then install SMART Response 2010. Since SMART Response comes bundled with SMART Notebook, you should get an updated install of everything when you install SMART Response.
The problem, i was told, is that if you already have Notebook on the computer and then try to install Response with Notebook bundled with it, it creates a conflict between the old install and the new install of Notebook. check with your IT person before doing this.
Good luck.

I went on Bridget with SMART and the problem ended up being that I had to connect the receiver to get the tab to show up. I've never had to do that before unless I was needing to put in the product key to register it. Usually the tab shows up and you have 30 days to register. Go figure.
I've been teaching an advanced SMARTboard class to teachers and we've run into several issues with files crashing when trying to use flash objects, tables, or even just doing a Response assessment. Not sure what's going on. Half the class had their files crash last week when we tried to use a spinner, a table, and fading animation when creating an activity. Luckily they were able to recover themDoesn't seem to like that combination. If you've had similar problems and know how to resolve them please let me know. Looks like our computers have enough RAM so we shouldn't be having those problems.
