SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I've been wondering what pedagogical applications might be from the new feature/gesture that allows objects to "bounce" off the edges of the page when connected to a SMARTBoard.  It's really cool and the kids love to play with it, but I'm guessing there has to be more.

Thanks,  Lisa :)

Great question, I tweeted it.
It's great when two kids are working at the board together. one can easily and quickly "pass" a word, a picture or whatever to their partner on the other side of the board.

Yes, and the "bounce" part just keeps it in play, so to speak. I guess those of us with a 600 series board wouldn't know about things like that. Someday.......
yes Matt... in our dreams =)   You can still use it with a 600 series... it's just not the same I know...
I could see students using this feature when classifying information.  They would bounce things to the other side of the boards that didn't belong in a specific catagory.

I just saw a science teacher who had students classifying information and tossing the words back and forth as needed.

I have also thought that it would work well to "pile" objects and sort through to find the "right" one, perhaps a deck of cards or pile of photos that illustrate a word. Students could decide which is "best" causing them to think as they go through the pile. To use the dual users, they can sort through a big pile together.
