A Revolution in Education
Hey Revolutionaries...
I'm in a SMART Notebook 11 Certification Training class right now and have run into a problem with my Mac. It is not playing nicely with the Notebook 11 the camera option "Area Capture" because of a blank box in the middle of my screen. I have found after I take an area capture, the "Capturing to Notebook Software" window pops up right after you take the photo. That exact area is blank when I go the Notebook page.
An example of an Area Capture I took just now is below...
Any ideas that will solve this glitch or error? Any fixes?
As of now, I am moving my browsers/pictures to the lower, right-hand corner and taking the captures then. Hmmm...
Thanks for the help!

Tech Support posted a fix for this on the SMART Facebook page and it fixed the writer's problem; here are the directions:
Permalink Reply by SJ Tech on September 10, 2012 at 11:59am So I just found out in another thread that the SMART ToolSet is now expired and we don't know when it will be reactivated. Is there another way to fix screen capture problems without using it? I ran into the trouble on a Lion computer (10.7.4) with Notebook 11 installed. I can do the Apple-based workaround for now until I learn a solution to restore Notebook's own screen capture, although the latter is preferred. Thanks in advance.

SMART ToolSet's 'screencap' fix essentially replaces the existing Screen Capture application under Mac HD\Applications\SMART Technologies\SMART Tools with a known working one. So I'm providing you with a link for such a replacement. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6400303/Screen%20Capture.zip
Please give it a try and let me know if the 'white box' issue goes away.
Thanks,

Permalink Reply by SJ Tech on September 11, 2012 at 8:00am My screen capture problem is different--the tool appears to run, you select the area for capture, it makes the shutter noise, and then nothing happens--nothing at all appears on the Notebook page. I did try your suggestion, David (thank you for sending the file), but it didn't help in my case. If anyone else has thoughts, I'm open to hearing them.
