SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I plan on attending the National Educational Computing Conference will be in Washington DC June 28-July 1, 2009. See http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2009/ for more details. Smarttech will be represented a lot there in booths and sessions. Hope to see several of you there for this incredible conference.

Do you want to attend NECC this summer. Check out http://exchange.smarttech.com/forums/p/3958/9196.aspx#9196 You might be able to go without paying the conference fee!
Thanks for the link Obe, I will definitely apply! Now I just have to plan out a creative video.
Check out SMART presentations being offered at the NECC Conference at http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2009/exhibit_hall/sponsor_activi... Hope I can meet and learn from you all at the presentations!
I actually just added your presentation to my NECC planner! Looking forward to it!
Just worth noting...All of these presentations will be delivered by SMART Exemplary Educators. Come out and support your fellow educators and learn the extraordinary things they are doing in the classroom with technology.
NECC has been a BLAST! I had great feedback from my presentation on Language Arts instruction using SMART Notebook. Download my file at http://exchange.smarttech.com/files/folders/vste/entry8291.aspx
Great file Colette! I just wish I could have been at NECC, but alas it wasn't part of my SMART Board destiny. I plan on creating some new language arts files later this summer and you had some fun new activities in your file that I haven't seen before.

A spelling word/vocab activity that my students love is to match an icon with an attached sound recording, to the vocabulary or spelling word. We do the recordings in audacity and just add them in to the files. The recordings are also fun for matching games in other areas, say telling time, or descriptions to go with pictures on slides. I have some examples on the SMART Exchange. If you go to http://exchange.smarttech.com/search/SearchResults.aspx?q=smoses+AN... you can see my lessons. The "clocks and time matching with voices" file is a good example. "The Chocolate Touch" file also has an example, but it is way down the line in a very large set of slides.

Thanks again for sharing.
Shelly,
Thanks so much. I also appreciate the new ideas! I'm sorry you could not be at NECC, but please keep in touch. I'll post when I add new things!
Colette
Obe,
NECC was AMAZING!!! It was great to see you there and to have time to talk SMART! I'm looking forward to Calgary and to using more of what I learned from you! You're a rock star!
Colette
NECC 2009 was incredible with 18,000 educators in Washington DC. You can download many of the SMART presentations from NECC 2009 at http://www.necc2008.org/group/smarttechnologies
