How can the iPad2 become interactive with the Smartboard?

Hi there,

There are two quick ways to get started with it today that I know of.  One option, is if you are commercial customer with a Bridgiit Server.  You can use Bridgit to view, join and interact with conferences.

The other is to buy any third-party software that allows your iPad 2 to control your PC.  Examples of this are the TouchPad and of course VNC.  You can use this to operate your PC through the tablet much like a simplified SMART Slate.

This would allow you to walk around the room and lecture, interacting with the PC from the iPad 1/2.  You could even have students come up and interact with the board (but I would refrain from touching the iPad while they are writing, just to make sure you don't interrupt the writing).

I'm sure there are other ways too.  But I use a PlayBook to do simliar at work and in meetings.  Edit:  The PlayBook and Android Tablets allows for Flash - which means you can use express.smarttech.com on them as well in most cases (allowing you to use Notebook files without a board).

Thank you.  That helps.

I use the $3 app called Splashtop which allows me to control my computer which connects to a SMART Board using Wireless Internet.  This way I can do flash and SMART Notebook files on my Ipad while controlling my computer that is connected to my SMART Board.

If you already have a wireless slate and use that does this give any additional use or value?

I would just use your Wireless slate since that works better with the SMART Board as well as uses bluetooth instead of Wireless so it should be a faster response time.

Thank you.  Will stay with the slate.   Nice to know I am not way behind by not having the latest tech tools.
