SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I'm working with several math teaches (although this is not discipline specific) to create interactive word walls with their IWBs. We are creating text boxes with single words, symbols, numbers, and small graphics that can be moved around to be manipulated by students (and teachers) to make connections, classify, identify, create/model relationships, etc .

I am interested in finding out what other teachers have already done with this idea. As well as determine if anyone is interested in creating along with us? We have a basic idea but want to get multiple perspectives on how it might be included in a classroom routine.

OK here you go. It's not the file I'm looking for, because it will be a week or so before I get my computer back. I have this brainstorming file and it's pretty close. The real power for me is the opportunity to import real graphs and let the kids interact with the graph by adding what they know and identifying things like domain and range in real graphs. Unfortunately, I have not had as much opportunity to work with elementary and middle school teachers with this. I've found myself working more closely with high school teachers because of my projects. I'm still trying to work with a specific middle school teacher, but I must admit I have failed to get back to him. (I have lots of excuses...)

I was just listening to a Teaching With Smart Boards podcast where they made a jigsaw puzzle out of a graph. I loved the idea and have already used it. Here is the link to the episode.
