SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Has anyone experienced hardware problems since upgrading to Notebook v10.8?  We are having issues throughout my building. On the USB-connected boards, the touch recognition no longer works (I have fiddled wtih all sensitivity settings); when you pick up a pen it still acts like a pointer finger, and same with the eraser. On the bluetooth boards, the entire pen tray no longer works - You have to choose the tool manually by clicking it within the Notebook software.  There are some new cool features to this version, but they are outweighed by the hardware issues. Below is the version information. Thanks in advance for your help.

Smart Product Drivers Install Version: 10.8.212.0
Smart Notebook Install Version: 10.8.364.0
Hardware Model: SB600 (SC9)

We are having the same issue on our MacBooks, v. 10.8. The Patch does not help with the issue. I have been working the the SMART Tech Support guys and they are ready to send me new controllers for the boards losing connectivity. I am still convinced it is software, but.....

Here are a few ideas:
1. To fix the touch recognition, have you checked your pen and touch recognition (panning) in your control panel? De-select single finger panning.

2. Having to select the tools from Notebook :  Each time we upgrade our software the same problem happens. To fix it refresh your smart product drivers, restart your computer and then the pen tray should work.

I should have said 'repair' not 'refresh' smart product drivers. You do this by right clicking on the product drivers. Apology.

Thanks Joanne,

Your suggestions worked! The secret to the gesture issue was what you said, with the addition of having to click 'apply' rather than just 'ok'. Thanks again.

Hello everyone,

We've been having this problem, also.  The issue for us seems to be that Touch Recognition is not enabled automatically for any user that logs in.  Does anyone know of a way (through the Windows Registry, or otherwise) to enable Touch Recognition for every user that logs into a computer, without having to go to the Control Panel, click this and that?  FYI:  I work in the IT department of a large school district.  I came across this site, and I thought I'd check it out!  I apologize if I'm writing in the wrong section.

Thank you for your time!!
