SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I'm doing Google Earth on the Smart board with 4th and 5th graders. So far we've just begun learning the navigation tools and the kids are teaching each other what they already have discovered. I'm interested in having them make a placemarker tour for younger students.

In our school in the next few months K. is studying bears, 2nd grade is studying Europe, 3rd is in the rainforest, 4th studys presidents and 5th studys Egypt and Mesopotamea. Does anyone know of any tours or projects for GE in any of those areas?

My idea is to have 5th grade make a tour of a biographical sketch of Barach Obama's life timeline. I haven't seen anyone else do that yet. What do you think?

Thanks for the links and comments. Yesterday I had a fifth grade all set to make their first placemarks and we suddenly lost internet. The rest of class was confusion and frustration. Oy.
