SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

I am having trouble with my floating tools. I can see the "handle" on the side of my monitor, but when I click on the arrows to show the buttons, nothing apprears. I am desperate need of a fix becasue I am providing training next week to a staff of teachers and I need to be able to show the tools. I have updated my notebook software and the smartboard drivers and still only see the handle. Any suggestions?

I have never encountered the problem you described and I'm sure you have already tried the following. I would turn the FTs off and on from the SMART Tools icon in the system tray (pc) or dock (mac). If you are using a Mac and have your dock set to hide the tools can get trapped behind the doc when it is docked to the Left hand side of the screen.

One last suggestions . . . if you are sure you have the latest version of NBX and drivers . . . then you may want quit your SMART tools and restart them . . . on a PC you should make sure the Tools are stopped do ctrl>Alt>del and from the Task manager make sure the SMART processes and services are completely shutdown.

good luck!
A similar question was asked in the SMART Exchange (http://exchange.smarttech.com/forums/p/3488/8256.aspx#8256).

Here is the suggestion:
Close the SMART Board Tools and follow this document:

If you have the grip pad as well (the grid of dots) can you try clicking and holding down on that grip pad, and then dragging the floating tools away from the side.
