A Revolution in Education
With the recent release of the SMART viewer and iPad app I thought it may be appropriate to raise a discussion about emerging technologies. In early July I blogged a post about emerging technologies deemed likely to have a large impact in education based on the 2012 Horizon report which identified six emerging technologies deemed likely to have a large impact over the coming five years in education around the globe. I wrote a paper (link below) in regards to my thoughts on emerging technologies in June and it is already some what dated already! It is dated in terms of the release of Rover, an app which allows educational flash content to be viewed on an ipad, therefore criticising one of my arguments. However, here is a video snap shot of the Horizon Report:

I'd also like to mention that with new technologies emerging I think the SMARTboard will remain a vital teaching tool, it is just how we integrate other technologies with it that will create the optimal learning environment for our 21st century students.
