It sounds like SMART Notebook is installed properly on the computer since you indicate the Error 1335 only occurs when logged in as a teacher user profile but not as an administrator.
1. Log in as the teacher.
2. Temporarily stop any anti-virus software that may be running.
3. Clear to clear the teacher's default Temp folder:
a. Click Start, type %temp% in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
b. On the Organize menu, click Select All.
c. On the Organize menu, click Delete.
d. Click Yes.
4. Browse to C:\Program Files\SMART Technologies\Education Software and confirm you have Read permissions.
5. Try reopening SMART Notebook again.
If the issue persists, the problem may be that the teacher user profile is roaming. If so, check if there is another teacher profile which launches SMART Notebook without a problem and duplicate it for the original teacher. Or see if the teacher can use a local user profile.
I ended up just deleting the teacher profile altogether and then had him log in again and everything seems to be working fine, however his folder wasn't recreated. I'll just wait and see what happens from here. Thanks for the response.
