A Revolution in Education
Hi all,
I have a smart board 680 running notebook 10.8.364 on Windows XP (XP! What year is this?)
I also have a Avervision 300AF document camera. Aver USA has a flash plug-in you can insert in your smart notebook page and run your doc camera right from the notebook, manipulating the live picture, etc. (rather than projecting the avermedia program image and then picking up the pen tools to write on the image as an overlay or capturing the image and inserting the static image on the notebook page).
However, I find that when I try to insert the plug-in flash file, it only rarely works, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when it will -- suddenly, following the exact same steps with which I have tried and failed previously, it will just work.
I have followed all of the steps provided on Aver's website:
http://www.averusa.com/presentation/downloads/AVerVision_Flash_Plug...
Has anyone else tried to do this, and are there any tips to make it work, or any reason you can think of that the same plug-in inserted into the same program the same way would work differently one time to the next?
Thanks for the help
We have some AVer camers in our district too. We are using the wireless document cameras and I had the same problem on one of my teacher machines, although we are running Windows 7. If I remember correctly I tried a whole bunch of things, so I'm a little fuzzy on what actually worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled a bunch of times. I tried different versions of the software, because I think that the AVer website has the new 2.0version and a version before that. I even tried different cameras connected to the computer. Ultimately, I got the camera to work, but the cameras that we have in the district needed to be sent back to AVer for a firmware update. I don't know if that's the same issue that you'll have. I know the explanation is a little jumbled so I hope you can make some sense of it and get something to work on your end. Good luck.

Since it is a video feed, maybe video codecs effect this? For MACs, update perian.org and Flip4Mac. For Windows, update k-lite video codecs. Restart computer and then see if it works.
What version of flash do you have running since different flash versions run differently?
